Lemon Jelly
Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen signed last year one of the most exciting records of recent years, collecting three ten-inch disc limited edition that had been taken to the streets above, which in turn had succeeded in making Lemon Jelly an entire underground Anglo totem. In a concert of 23 Skidoo found out who shared his love of music rare and unclassified, but it was not until four years ago they started working together. Meanwhile, Franglen had devoted himself to composing music for Sega and Sony Playstation, television and movies.
He had been gaining in reputation to get to work as a programmer for Pulp, Primal Scream, Bjork, Hole, Blur and niceties mainstream size of the Spice Girls or All Saints. For his part, Deakin had become a very active dj in illustrator and designer, responsible for the artwork of ten-inch discs in the group (simply awesome).
When the two decided to start working together, the result was that all we’ve heard: music that escapes all the conventions of both the dance style (because their music is not danceable) and the pop style (because they do not get can sing), but which is equally thrilling, evocative and catchy. In summarizing each song years and years of listening to hundreds and hundreds of vinyl, with neat directorial nod exaggerated by both the interior and the exterior of the CD. So expect much of a meeting of two guys who have managed to bill a proposal so unusual and yet with so many references in popular culture of our times. When do you most?
