Ladytron
The group has just arrived, but soon released their first single, “She Took Her to a Movie”, which record a budget of 50 pounds sterling. This is a small sample of the unmistakable style Ladytron: keyboards and drum machines of the second and third hand, dreamy atmospheres and rhythms as is typical for The Human League. The single quickly became a hit of unimaginable proportions, gathering praise from critics and conquering the dance floors of half the world.
Ladytron have little to do with the scene of the time: their sound is so new, though their referents are so classics like Kraftwerk, Young Marble Giants, The Human League … and some not so classics like Daft Punk or Air, as its aesthetics, between the glam, the ultra-modern and Adidas tracksuit.
From his own label releases “Commodore Rock” and will soon receive offers from other labels to edit your LP. But before you edit “Miss Black and Her Friends” with Bambini Records, an EP that would enshrine as the techno-pop feel of the world and as the spearhead of the recovery of the legacy of the darker pop of the eighties. Even Bertrand Burgalat cares about them and remix one of his themes. Finally signed to Labels / Virgin for Europe and for U.S. Emperor Norton (seal Burgalat Bertrand, Miss Kitten and The Hacker, Felix Da Housecat or Arling and Cameron, among many others).
“604″ is his long awaited debut, preceded by the release of two separate 11-inch discs. Criticism surrenders to his feet amid world and his fame grows every week. Begin shortly after a long tour that takes to the stage of half of Europe, USA, Japan and of course Britain. A few months ago have returned today with 11-inch edition of “Playgirl”, with remixes by Felix Da Housecat, I Monster and Zombie Nation.
